London’s new choral ensemble Spiritus and the Britten Sinfonia present an hour of radiant French Romantic sacred music — beloved masterpieces and rediscovered gems woven into a soul-stirring journey from human longing to transcendent glory. These special preview performances lead to the group’s debut recording in the soaring Gothic beauty of Troyes Cathedral, France.
Featuring works by Franck, Fauré, Gounod, Massenet, Duruflé, and Messiaen. Seldom-heard works by Renée Philippart, Jean Huré, and Hector Berlioz will receive their world premiere recordings.
